IMO Herrera made two mistakes on that play -- breaking for 3rd, but then also giving up when he was clearly going to be caught off of 2nd base. If he'd forced the Mets into a rundown, at least they have a chance to accidentally throw the ball into CF or maybe Galvis could have snuck home in the confusion.
Well, one can't fault Herrera for not being aggressive enough! I like his enthusiasm and we just have to take the bad with the good.
