Nola had an off day, his FB command was off, his two seamer wasn't showing the great break, and his velocity was down from previous starts.
His curve was very good, but he threw it a little too much, the changeup was ok, good drop in speed, but it lacked the tail he usually has and he had trouble commanding it, kept missing the outside corner. I think he trusts the curve more, but hitters could time it when he started leaning on it too much.
A solid performance by a pitcher who didn't have his best stuff, a good sign of maturity.
However, he has to keep working on the change, because the change is harder to pick up than the curve, and it sets up the fastball. If he can get all three working together, well, watch out world..
