Another frustrating loss and the Phillies go 3 under .500 while the Mets enter tonight's game 5 over. A Brave win would move the Phillies out of second place in the NL East.
Joyce with another K in the ninth. His homer this series is his only hit in the last (I think) 32 at bats. Herrera hit the ball well but taken for the out easily at the track in left center. A run might have been able to score on Knapp's hit but with two out and down by four, holding at third was a reasonable call.
Pitching was not awful and the Phillies out hit the Rays today, 10 to 9. Still, Phillies never seemed to be in the game after the first two runs. Phillies pitchers only walked 4 but I think 3 of them scored. In the field, the Phillies again looked bad. I hope to remain optimistic for the season, but it is getting harder and harder to see the Phillies making post season this year. Still, with the overall mediocre play from the rest of the NL East, there may still be some hope, but it probably means having to win the division. Time for the Mets to collapse.
