While the emotion of seeming to blow yet another one loomed over this one, it really was an exciting game if you let yourself believe it wasn't over. Sure it was sloppy, but both sides made mistakes, and that kind of made it more interesting. There weren't many strikeouts in the last couple of innings, and for once I didn't get the feeling that the game would end because one team kept striking out after losing the lead. I think that the proliferation of strikeouts in recent years has detracted from the game in that we kind of expect them, and you never know what can happen when the ball is put into play.
I do think the game has lost something when any walkoff on a close play is going to be reviewed. The feeling of exhilaration you get on a walkoff win is tempered when the game isn't really over until the review is finished.
