oh for sure he was at the Hooters shows over the weekend too. It was either something medically catastrophic like a heart attack/aneurysm or self-inflicted (I hope not).
One of tbe voices of my life although I listened to WYSP more growing up. Like Harry the K, Whitey, Gene Hart and a few others, I can hear his voice in my head now. RIP
Overshadowed by Mr. Robert but perhaps an even a bigger part of my youth, especially on snow days. Also the voice of Temple football.

Dick Cheney
The Prince of Darkness during the W years. Maybe he redeemed himself a teeny, tiny little bit by being a Never Trumper who stuck to his guns and didn't sell out.
James Watson - groundbreaking scientist, but flawed human
Leon Stickle, NHL linesman, forever remembered by Flyers fans for missing an offside call versus the Islanders in Game 6 of the 1980 Stanley Cup finals, died on Nov. 5, age 77.
I'm sorry he died, but he probably cost us a Stanley Cup.
Former Flyer Mel Bridgman https://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/former-nhler-ottawa-senators-gm-mel-bridgman-dead-at-70/article_eabe7134-035c-5175-b42f-f4f51b1f3681.html
Damn. I knew both of them because of my time around minor league hockey in Texas. Stickle worked in the Central Hockey League as a supervisor for a while before returning to the NHL in that role. Great guy, but earned his lifetime Philly villainy. Bridgman I never met but he repped a few of the bush-league guys in his agent days.
some backstory to that one
Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia's infant daughter...very sad but that explains why he took leave from the Dodgers in the middle of the WS and why relievers on both WS teams paid tribute to him.

Remarkable (to me, at least) how the NFL has only had four commissioners going back to 1946...Bert Bell, Pete Rozelle, Paul Tagbliabue and Roger Goodell.
