Increasingly I think we should go all out to add JT Realmuto. Send the Fish, Sixto, Alfaro and, if necessary Nick Williams and if extra necessary, add Drew Anderson. Then sign Harper. To me Harper will be easier to sign than Machado, since Harper is primarily about money of which we have plenty.
That would give us the following lineup:
Hernandez 2b (SW)
Seguar ss (R)
Hoskins 1b (R)
Harper (RF) (L)
Realmuto (c) (R)
McCutchon (LF) R
Franco 3b (R)
Quinn (CF) (SW)
That is a lineup for a team that should easily win 90+ games. It is a lineup that has a 50% turnover from last year and includes 3 All Stars (Segura, Harper and Realmuto). And with the exception of McCutchon, is a relatively young lineup with McCutchon being the only player over 30. It could be a fairly stable lineup for at least four years which would give us more time to pump up the farm system with quality youngsters rather than most of the borderline prospects we now have. If that lineup is too right handed, then go get Moustakis to play third and add Franco to the trade list along with Herrera and Elfin.
Add Happ to the group of starters and Britton to the bullpen and that is a contender for the NL pennant.
