Haven't been able to post in several days but definitely wanted to give a thumbs up to Klentak for his 3 deals this week, I liked all three of them to varying degrees. One more thing worth thinking about...the Phils sure do seem to be developing pitchers at the minor league level in the past 2-3 years, almost all the young hurlers have improved going through the system.
Not sure if this is Ray Burris, or an organizational philosophy but Klentak mentioned that he liked the arms he got and wanted to give his coaches a chance to work with them. Actually, I think McClure is the weak link, many of these guys seem to regress when they have been touched by him and Nola seems to have turned it around when he began ignoring McClure and developing his own routine.
I am excited to see these guys perform this final month, still believe Benoit [interesting he wasn't used last night] might garner a return, and like the direction the club is taking.
I believe it was andyb who mentioned that he thinks Klentak learned last season about these trade deadlines and how you can't wait toooooo long to make a move and I think andyb is correct.
I also am thrilled that they acquiring and not moving international money.
