Apparently he is healthy [at least today!] and working out in the FIL. Jim, a guy who is in Florida and writes for phuturephillies, said he saw Quinn hitting this week against Eflin and both looked healthy.
I don't know about Quinn anymore. There is little doubt that the guy has incredible talent and could have been a huge asset to the Phillies BUT I also believe there are certain guys with bodies that simply have trouble staying injury free and it appears Quinn may be one of them. I know, I know, most if not all of his injuries have been seemingly fluke ones, but that may be the best example of the fact that he may simply not be able to play a full season...he is incredibly susceptible to seemingly fluke injuries.
And one more thing, and I think this is even more important. Quinn has missed almost 3 years of development with injuries, that is not a minor amount of time missed. At some point guys who weren't as talented as he was 3 years ago might simply pass him because they stayed healthy and continued to develop. Baseball is a difficult game to master, especially hitting and nuances of the game and Quinn has been missing those valuable learning moments due to injury.
Look, I hope the Phils don't give up on him and I am at the point where I believe he is a 110 game at the most player and I want those 110 games with the Phillies. No more AAA ball, no more getting him experience in the minors, no more of that. If he has to suffer another injury I want it in Philadelphia and not LHV.
