And the problem is the Angels aren't broke. Heck, for a while this season they were in the playoff race, and are better than the Phillies. Is there really any scenario, even if they need more talent, in which they'd actually make their team better by trading Trout when he can actually play for the Angels for three years?
Trout is so good you'd have to pay full price even if the Angels also got you to take Pujols. Bkox's package sounds about right. Now, if it was 2020 and he was going to hit free agency, different story.
